World #3 Nour El Tayeb has withdrawn from the upcoming CIB Black Ball Squash Open, scheduled to take place from 7th to 12th December, due to personal reasons.
Hania El Hammamy, the reigning Black Ball Open champion after her stunning run to the title in March, will move up to take El Tayeb’s place in the draw. The young Egyptian will now face Canada’s Danielle Letourneau in the first round.
Welsh #1 Tesni Evans moves up to become one of the top eight seeds, taking El Hammamy’s place. She will play England’s Lucy Turmel, who takes the last spot in the women’s draw in Cairo.
Egypt’s Nadine Shahin moves up to take the spot left vacant by Evans in the draw, and she will now face Belgium’s Tinne Gilis in the opening round.
The women’s Black Ball Open will take place from 7th to 12th December and will be followed by a men’s tournament which will be held from 13th to 18th December. All 62 matches across the men’s and women’s events will be broadcast live on SQUASHTV and PSA Facebook page, while the semi-finals and finals will also be shown by contracted broadcasters.
