Round Three at Black Ball
Eight round matches as the last sixteen players aimed to claim Platinum quarter-final spots.
There were no seeding upsets today – on court at least – as seven of the top eight seeds made it through to the quarters, Black Ball’s own Salma Hany the only one to drop a game as she overcame Rowan Elaraby in four close games. She’ll face USA’s 9/16 seed Olivia Clyne for a place in the final after second seed Nouran Gohar was defaulted for breaching PSA COVID protocols.
England’s defending Champion SJ Perry set up an enticing encounter with top seed Nour El Sherbini – the world #1 and world champion still to claim a Black Ball title – while 2020 Platinum champion Hania El Hammamy will meet Kiwi Joelle King and France’s third seeded Camille Serme will meet USA’s Amanda Sobhy.
