Hania leads Egyptian charge as Coline makes first Platinum quarter

Eight matches to determine the quarter-finalists today at the Black Ball Club, with five places going to Egypt and one each to England, USA and France.

Sarah-Jane Perry and Amanda Sobhy fulfilled their seedings to reach the last eight, but for the French it’s unseeded Coline Aumard, who beat fellow non-seed Farida Mohamed to reach her first Platinum quarter-final.

Hania El Hammamy led the Egyptian charge with a tremendous win over third seed Camille Serme, and she’ll be joined in tomorrow’s quarters by compatriots Nour El Tayeb, Nour El Sherbini, Nada Abbas and Raneem El Welily.
